Finding Fritz: The Heart of an Adventurer

GO AHEAD – I DARE YOU! Theses words changed the course of Fritz Sprandel’s Life forever.

This is a real-life story of an Adventurer that was a dared to do, different excursions that most people could only dream about. Fritz had a rocky childhood and was always striving to prove his worth. This created an unstoppable determination in everything Fritz did in his life including all of his adventures.

Fritz’s big adventures all took place in the anything goes culture of the late 60s and 70s over a span of 10 years. There is no way what he did then could be done today. Everything now must be registered, licensed, and otherwise tracked by authorities. But back then, it was easy to get off the grid. To kind of blast by officials on whatever vehicle you were driving and thumb your nose at their inattention.

It was initially fun. But it turned out that Fritz couldn’t get officially sanctioned for his adventures—for example they pulled his name out of the Guinness Book of World Records when they realized that going 5,500 miles across the USA by snowmobile was illegal—they took away the title but kept the snowmobile itself which was on display in the Guinness Book of Records Museum in the Empire State Building in New York City.
