Kind-hearted, single Amish woman Ruth Beiler desperately wants a family, but she has spent most of her younger years looking after her sister and father following her mother’s early demise.

Spying handsome Joseph Raber at her sister’s wedding, anxiously chasing after his active little daughter, she empathizes with his recently widowed situation.

Maybe she could provide the solution to his problem of childcare, and in doing so, find a ready-made family of her own to care for and look after.

There is just one problem — Abigail, Joseph’s wayward older child, who hasn’t yet come to terms with her mother’s early death.
